Crestron Prodigy for Royal Crescent apartment
This beautifully period apartment on Bath's Royal Crescent is a peid-a-terrre for the retired couple owners. When not cruising the Pacific on their yacht or Skiing from their chalet in the Alps, they use this apartment to relax and enjoy Bath's excellent shops and entertainment.
The clients first wish was a complete replacement of their antiquated AV system and the installation of a home-cinema. They secondly wanted to introduce a number of smart control features to suite the way they use the property, including mood lighting, remote heating control and electric curtains.
Crestron Prodigy
Crestron's new Prodigy system was the ideal solution for this property; it was introduced for exactly this kind of small but high-spec installations where control of several systems is required: Multiroom audio, lighting, heating and TV's are all controlled via one type of hand-held controller and wall mounted touch-screen.
iPod multiroom
Music is provided for principle rooms via an iPod docked into the Crestron system. This gives full access to iPod menus from wall mounted and touch-screens located in each room.
One-touch home cinema
As the Prodigy system integrates with all the home cinema equipment, only one remote is needed to activate all the cinema hardware. Multipul remotes are no longer required, resulting in a system that is child's play to operate.

Rako lighting
As with many period properties, this apartment has a large number of floor and table lamps and having to turn on several lamps every beveling was a real bugbear for the clients. Therefore joined up lighting control was going to be a real advantage. As this had to be achieved without rewiring a wireless product was the only option.
Rako's wireless lighting system was the ideal solution giving central control of all the lights in the property and integrating seamlessly with the Crestron system. Now preset lighting scenes are selected via the elegant brass keypads or Crestron remotes. The Prodigy system also allows preset programming of lighting scenes, so lights can be set to come on when the apartment is empty for increased security and table lamps come on to automatically light the apartment when evening draws in.

Internet access
The client's lifestyle means they are often use the apartment for short periods and at short notice. The ability to activate the heating and turn on lights via the internet, means their home is always warm and welcoming when they arrive: A real bonus on cold winter evenings!
